Got my Cayugas! (PIC)

I took a gamble & ordered from eFowl. I had no problems at all and the shipping was quick. They are very healthy & happy looking little peepers!
However, I just found out a few days ago a 2nd cousin of mine runs the feedstore 30 miles out of town & orders from Ideal. If I place another order it will from her.

On another note, I really want to thank everyone here.

When I decided to get ducks, I found this site & read back through roughly 100 pages and read Storey's Guide before placing an order.
All the info here really helped get me prepared, know what to expect (poop!! haha), what to look for and where to go for help. This place is awesome and I am so happy this site exists for all to share ideas and help one another. Truly helpful forums are few & far between.

Six days after arrival! They are keeping me company on the couch watching the Texas A&M game! The cat jumped up and laid down next to them earlier but I didn't have my camera then

They are doing perfectly! Every morning I fill the bathtub with a little water for them to run around in while I clean out their cage. I started cutting some peas into small pieces and throwing them in the tub... Then I watch the peepers go nuts! It takes me forever to clean the cage out because I just can't pull myself away from watching them frolicking around the tub, LOL

I've been sprinkling their food with a little grit and niacin... how long do they need to keep getting the niacin supplement? Throughout their life or just while they are growing?

It's so amazing to see how fast they grow. They are of course becoming messier, I may have to switch to cleaning their cozy home twice a day! I have a puppy pad down then that slip-proof mesh cabinet liner stuff on top of that to prevent them from getting into the cotton.
We have their cage in the bedroom with us and their chatter just about puts me to sleep. It's just so quiet and relaxing - for now!!

I raised my 4 cayuga duckling inside this spring...I loved it. I will never buy an adult bird cause the baby stage is just so perfect. Now my babies are 6 months old.... 3 of them enjoy being ducks outside...swimming eating bugs. But love it when I come to sit and cuddle with them. but one of my ducks will stand at the gate and carry on like something is killing her...I go out, open the gate, and she runs for the house........... I open the door and on the couch she goes....lol I've made one of my ducks a couch potatoe...lo, oh well. Don't worry she is still very much a duck but as soon as i'm home she wants in with me. I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh ya...I also have a goose that does the same thing.

Yes, but I had to pay a minimum order charge.

I dont want to put a dampner on your cute babies but......what if something happens to 1 of them, your going to have a lonely ducky on your hands. I never get anything in 2's always 3 or more, then you dont have to go out and start over again with a new duck.

too two cute !!!!

Is one able to sex cayugas when they are this little, or are they a harder breed of duck to sex, as some have different bill colors etc (for other breeds )

I could only get two at that time, so that's what I did. Now I know where to get ducks near us so if something were to happen - which I pray doesn't - we'll be able to get a friend quickly without a costly min order charge - BUT, I'm going to town today so I am thinking I may just go a head & get a third one now. I don't know if my cousin has them sexed though... we'll see.

My hubby likes them more than he thought he would. He enjoys hanging out with them when I have them out and has decided he wants to build a better little coop for them out in the pen to make sure they are safe, hehe. Before he was only up for the bare minimum. He was freaking out about how much they have grown in the last week.
