How appropriate. This is my first egg. It is from Ena, one of my Americaunas.
It has a great shape and the shell seems nice and strong. I think it's pretty good for a first try.

yaaa now the fun begins....I love it when i do the egg hunt first thing in the morning....

How old is Ena? Just trying to keep up when the different breeds start laying. I do realize they mature at different rates even within the breed. I see it in my own hens. Some have red combs and others are just starting to develop their combs.

I'm not sure of her exact hatch date, but it was in Feb. We got her from a breeder at the end of June. Really, in just the last 7-10 days, her pea comb turned bright red. They other two's are still very pale. So that should be 7 months, give or take a couple of weeks.

What a pretty egg! We ate our first EE eggs yesterday...we finally had enough for breakfast. We've been eating eggs from our Golden Comets for 3 weeks now...but we finally had enough EE eggs. They were delish!
