Thanks everyone, its nice to finally get to this point. Its funny how people can't wait to get the first egg, and then soon they are up to their ears in them, giving them away and all that.
I'm happy though, I have enough friends and neighbors I could give them to.
The kids are so excited by it.
My younger son said, well you can eat this one but the rest of them are babies so you can't eat them.
I tried to explain that their isn't a rooster in that coop so they are all for eating, I don't think he believed me.
He is afraid we will accidentally eat a baby.
I guess I will have to sneak the eggs past him until he gets it.
I hope they all get the hang of laying before the cold weather really sets in and messes them up.
I have some easter eggers that are due to lay, that will really give the kids a thrill to get blue and green eggs.
