And I just won two sets of 12+ Black Copper Marans eggs on ebay. And 4 Blue Orpingtons, cuz they're cool! Okay, that sounded like a teenager, but I'm a 30 year old mother of four. A slightly giddy mother of four. Okay, forget the slightly part. I'm giddy.

I just got my incubator in the mail today. I have it set up and running. I need to let it run a couple of days to dial everything in. Should have eggs by the middle of next week.

Isn't this fun?!
I made my first trip to Tractor Supply yesterday (they're a 20 mile drive, I'm one of those urban chicken people) and got a Little Giant and a turner. I'd have preferred something like a Brinsea, but they don't carry those and I wanted one right away. I ordered a digital thermometer/hygrometer on ebay, it has a drop-in sensor so it won't take up space inside the bator. I'm going to cannibalize an old computer for the fan today, and my eggs will be arriving on Monday and Tuesday.

The eggs will hatch just in time for my oldest daughter's 6th b-day, she'll be so excited. I hope we have a good hatching experience!
