I have BRs, also hatched last year (June), but they have yet to gift me an egg. They've been breeding though so I hope eggs will start showing up soon. Are you going to hatch any?
I am happy for those of you with hens laying eggs but am even moreso envious. My 10 hens are mostly MW and Auburn from 7 to 10 months old. Not a single egg yet. Some of the hens have muddy backs so I suspect breeding but have not witnessed it. Guess they will lay when they are good and ready. Are any of you providing extra light to stimulate breeding?

It won't be long and you got yours at the perfect time. When I first got mine, it was late June too and since turkeys start laying the spring after they turn 6 mos old, they are at the perfect age to start breeding and laying when the season first opens. Unlike another one that I hatched late in the season who has long since turned 6 months old before the winter started, but I am haveing to wait until spring on her to start laying. I still have her and one of the older hens and they havn't started yet, but the weather's still off and on here, warm on day, cold the next, no rain one day, rain the next.
