Got my MPC chicks!!!

I got my 7 chicks from MPC and they are now 5 weeks old and doing great! The first day I had them I gave them a little sugar water to get them all going. After that I rinsed out there waterer and had just plain cold water in there for them. They all slept a lot, my golden laced wyandotte slept all of the time and away from everyone. I actualy called MPC to ask why and the lady told me some chicks just do that, if she is waking up to eat and drink then she is fine. Mine loved being at 95 degrees the first week everyone was fine and content. They didn't huddle up or hide in the corners, they would just all lay on there stomachs to sleep.

I got mine from MPC yesterday too, and around 10am this morning they did the same thing! They are all up and around now though...

Thanks for the reassurance guys! Everyone seems to be a little more energetic today. I can't get over how very small and cute everybody is. A couple of them are starting to paste up, so I'm goign to get them with a wet wash cloth tonight. The rhode island red already has the tiniest of combs. It is going to be interesting to see how they all develop.

When I received mine on August 11th... all silkies, I gave them all some sugar water and gatorade just to give them a little umpf... I gave them the gatorade for about 2 days just to be sure. Then I offered both gatorade and water slowly going to all water.

Best of luck... and aren't they they cutest little fuzzy butts!!!!!!

Oh... and even though it is summer, I found they were happier with the heat light on them. I tried to keep it around 92 - 95 for them.
