Got my new babies

    This may sound silly but what consistency should a chicks poop be? All of my chicks seem to be doing great, but I have noticed that a few have wet bottoms. Is that just how it is when they pee and poop? I guess I'm a little interested because I've heard people talk about chicks getting diarrhea. I think their fine but then again I'm new at this.

    Wet bottoms are not the norm. Watch for any "pasting up" (poop stuck to their vent feathers). Normal poops hold their shape - the white stuff is urates - like urine.
    Make sure & keep the bedding in the brooder very dry, and the food & water really clean. It helps a lot!
