After my first post, I could post picture's from my photobucket account.

I went to a breeder yesterday aiming to get 2 silkies, I ended up with only one silky, cause I fell in love with a little frizzle that was there. I'll be back there though...

Well I'll have to do it when I post my tenth post. I came in contact with a frizzle yesterday, she was beautiful! They said they weren't sure how they were getting them. They are fantastic!

DixieChick: Which breeder did you get your Silkies from? Are they located in VA?

I got three from a breeder closer to me. A white, black, and blue.
They're about 5 weeks old now. This is a photo of the white Silkie chick when I took them outside for some sun.

@alienChick...yes they are in VA..very nice couple very nicely cared for chicks and adults. They are located in Zuni, which is Isle Of Wight County.

We loved our first 3 silkies so much that we just got 3 more. I swear they just kill me they are so dang cute. Oddly, all 6 are different colors...that was pure luck. My first ones were red white and blue (how patriotic of them.) My new ones are a baby blue with dark blue tips, buff, and a light red. And the baby blue one is REALLY baby blue. I hope she stays that way... I don't have enough posts for pics yet. Mine are 4 weeks now. And their stepsisters are 9 months old.

I heard Faverolles are equally as sweet and awfully cute so we have some eggs with our name on it...fortunately with those, the males are a different color than the females so we don't have to play the waiting game we did with our silkies!

I know it's supposed to be an old wives tail, but we got lucky with the first 3 being all girls by doing that test where you lift and see if they put their feet up or down...they all went up, we got all girls...coulda been luck but seems we need luck in picking out silkie pullets!
