YAYYY!!!! My first (and second) egg was broken too, my chicken laid it AFTER she had perched for the night. A 3 foot fall will do that for the egg.

bawkbawkbawk, a soft egg CAN mean that they need more oyster shell, but pullets will occasionally take a while before their bodies get used to the process.

The first egg is special. Now every day when I go out to collect the eggs it's like christmas and collecting all the lovely little presents.
