after two weeks of being confined to the run due to fence repairs, our 6 girls got to roam today.

After about two hours, we heard a terrible commotion, looked outside, and saw an 8-inch snake in the throws of battle being ripped apart by 6 chickens. It was an "earthworm snake" which had no chance of hurting them, but was super-awesome to watch.

RIP

We have small brown lizards that have migrated to our state, they are very agressive, like they will stand and stare at you instead of running. There is some concern that they may take over and run all the anole lizards out of our area. Well the ones which are left in our yard are all missing some part of their tails. LOL Our hens think they are wonderful, easy to catch treats. And yes, sadly it's funny to see these tailless lizards running around the yard. But they do keep the hens happy and active.

I'm sure they love the chase!
