Got our new chicks in, One is not doing well.

Starter food has no grit for them? I should supply it additionally?
 
No. You need grit if you are feeding them treats such as greens or bugs to aid in digestion. If you are feeding just the starter, no grit is necessary:)
 
pine shavings is all I use also, you can add some sugar to their water also. chick starter is all we feed for the first few weeks also.
 
I had one like this and I put her in alittle box of her own in the brooder. About every hour or so placed her in front of her food and water and touched her beak to it. She would then eat and drink. In about a day or so she was fine. She is still smaller than the rest but she is holding her own now. Running and playing with the rest.

I was was soooo worried. Glad she is ok!
