Got our very 1st eggs this week!!

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to share that we received our 1st eggs this week from our RIR & then had our 1st egg dropped yesterday by our other hens! We are super excited!!

I remember when we got our first egg: our Wyandotte hen screamed for about two weeks before she laid it!

She doesn't create such a fuss anymore, but occasionally she'll express her displeasure.

We humans are so easy to please. Like you, the first egg had me bursting with happiness. It has been nearly 3 months since the first one and I'm still tickled each time I see an egg waiting for me.

Congrats on the first eggs! I was quite surprised when my BR hen laid her first egg, she was quite quiet and I wasn't expecting anything for a few more weeks. The staff at the local feed mill said she was an early layer and I was lucky!
