Got Our Very First Egg Today!!

We are so excited!! It has been a VERY long wait but alas today we have a perfect little green beauty from our Americana Henrietta! The kids are beyond excited and want to keep seeing it.
We are new to chickens so getting an egg feels like a huge accomplishment for us. Thanks to everyone that has answered my questions

Oooooooh, that's SO very exciting, isn't it?! We also got our very first (three) eggs this week. Sooooo happy! Can't wait til they're all laying steadily.

How old is Henrietta ? I can't wait to get my first one. I don't think I can eat it, I will stare at it for days and just be happy........... silly me

Congrats! our babies are 14 weeks old so we are still waiting for the big day.It will be our very first egg also!!

Congratulations!!! We got our first eggs last week (a total of 5 as of today). It's such a great feeling to find that first egg. I showed mine to everyone who would stand still long enough.
