Got Paint?

Thanks. I really don't think it will be difficult; just time consuming. I could have slapped a coat of paint up quickly, but I had to go and get all creative and stuff....

Crap like that happens after a cup of coffee. Then after lunch you wonder what the hell was I thinking????

Yeah, exactly! Sounded like a great idea at the time, then I got home and thought "Man... this will take a while." I can put the textured paint on with a roller, but then I gotta go around and sponge it all by hand. I have the unfortunate characteristic of being both creative and lazy. I get great ideas, then wanna kick myself when it comes to the follow through.

I love x-stitch too, I cleaned up most of my not so done projects................. (aka I threw them out) I have one of my moms here too.

I am debating painting the garage we are cleaning out, and then I look at it and think........no way!

I think I still have an unfinished cross stitch hummingbird that I started on a trip to see my aunt (it was going to be a gift for her) from 2003. Sad. This is why I never tell anyone when I'm making them something; I have to see if I actually finish it first.

I really need to paint every room in this house. But one thing at a time. I'm amazed that I actually managed to empty my entire bedroom. Got rid of a TON of clothes. My office should be next, it's PINK.

But two walls are lined with full book cases and then a big desk... I don't see me moving those any time soon.

If I am brave, I might share some similar photos in the coming week. We are fixing a wall in one room and then redoing another. Thankfully this "we" job includes men (and not my bf this time) being paid. But I am doing all the finish from the taping on.

In order to do this work I have to get up in the attic, with the shop vac and hope I do not fall through the almost paper ceilings and suck up all the 120 years of rats etc. To do that I first have to unload 120 years worth of junk. To unload the junk I need both boys to help and a place to put this stuff. So we have to clean out a store room that is also rat infested (we thought they were gone but no such luck) and to use that room, I have to clean out a garage that looks like a strong wind could blow it over. Cleaning the garage includes suiting/masking up and packing about 500 pounds of asbetos cement siding tiles, hauling out about 150 pounds of random garden fertilizer in wet rotten bags, about 75 random cans of paint plus about 30 cans of spray paint, and a zillion other haz mat items. And 2 truck loads of old wood, metal for the metal recycler..............oh man! I am tired! Some time in the future, we will have to unload the garages and fix the crumbling sills....but for now, I am going to be happy cutting a cat hole in the side so at least the rats can have company with fangs.

Ohhhhh this is my parents house not mine, yet

It might just be because I'm a guy and we all like tools. If you buy a drill motor and a paint mixer you can use the drill motor in other applications during your renovations. Trust me and any other home owner. You will be renovating. An auger on a drill can save a lot of work mixing thinset and grout if you want to try your hand at tile. It will also give you a much better blend on your paint texture mix. You can get a 1/2" drill motor at HD for around 60.00 or so that will do the job. Wouldn't be good enough for a contractor but it has enough torque. A contractor wouldn't buy one because it wouldn't hold up to as much use as they give them.

Proper tools make all the difference when redoing stuff. Just ask any of us guys. There's a few women on hear that will tell you the same thing.

Looking forwards to seeing the results. I remember our first place(condo). Once the previous owners moved out I saw how horrid the walls were. Took me over a week to paint the 1256 sq ft place. Then when we sold it took me 2 weeks to paint it before we listed it. I will take forever to prep the walls for painting. Then I prime, then paint, and if it doesn't look right I paint again. LOL I could never get a job rehabbing or painting, because I just take soooooooo long to get the job done.

I want to paint my kid's rooms. One is pink and the other is made up with racing stripes(there were even checkered flags, lol). I just want to do neutral creme colored tones, but the kids are fighting me on them.
