got pic of bobcat of trail camera.are they known for attacking humans?

You're best bet is to make your coop more secure. be careful shooting - shooting and killing predators in many areas is prohibited and illegal. Having an unsecure coop is no different to the predator than you or I going to an unlocked supermarket when you're hungry. We may not like them, but - they were here first doing what they've always done for hundreds of years - catching prey to survive. Unsecured chickens and ducks are easy targets. (and yes, I've lost chickens to predators - so far only when I've forgotten to lock them up safe and sound)

In that case, maybe animal control can help ? If it's become a "problem" animal -
In any case , if you do decide to shoot it, like I said, just be careful. We've had people in our neighborhood rat each other out - people you wouldn't think would be like that. it's sad but true. Though I do have to say - one of the people ratted on (not by me) - I'm glad of - they were illegally hunting in the woods behind my house - which was dangerous as there wasn't enough property and there were houses all around. They were caught cleaning a deer on their lawn without a tag .... it was about time - I was fearful of stray shotgun fire. Found shotgun shells on the back boarder of my property even. NOT cool.

most states allow you to protect you livestock and crops from pests bobcats rarely attach human but it is called wild life not tamelife, once it has found an easy meal it will be back untill it is dealt with.

If you corner it, it can be very dangerous. My friend almost lost her eye--less than an inch difference from where he did scratch her and she would have lost it. She was trying to chase it out of her runs--after having pulled her great pyr out, so that he wouldn't get hurt

.Instead of chasing it out, she ended up cornering it. Thankfully, no serious damage to her; Pretty sure she lost some birds, though..

Very seldom will you see one, but if you do, its probably about to eat something. I agree with SonoranSilkies about cornering it. They are fast and powerful. I'd rather set a trap for it than try to shoot it. If you are used to hunting, it would probably be OK, but be really careful. Remember that the bullet doesn't magically stop at your property line. You don't know what direction you will have to shoot so just be aware of what is behind your target. Decide ahead of time where you CANNOT shoot. Its not going to try to eat you, but it can do some serious damage just trying to get away from you.

well if i get another pic of it within the next few days ill call animal control.
my moms 2nd husband wont let me shoot it just because he dont care about my chickens. ill call animal control like i said if i get another pic.
