Got rid of the roosters

Freecycle is also an option. I rehomed a 4 week old Cornish X that was most likely a roo. I didn't want to mess with the Cornish X's huge growth rate nor early death so I figured I'd pass it on. Not in it for the meat, just the eggs.

I might have a free home- 2 hour drive, but no biggie- YAY!

Dang, I forgot about freecycle- and I'm a local member! Duh!

I am dealing with the same thing. Wayyyy tooo many roosters and its getting to be a bit noisey around here. I put an ad on CL too but unless you want to sell to bad folks they don't sell. Lately around here there has been alot of "ethnic folks" buying up everyones roos for you know what (not for eating either). I refuse to sell to those people so therefor i'm in for a long wait. Some of these roos i have are seramas so i really want to make sure they go to a good home where they will be kept warm over the winter. It is a royal PITA to try and rehome some of these.

I am trying to get rid of some young roos myself. They're on Craigslist also for free. I got some strange person contacted me with a very strange email that they wanted to buy my items and would send their currier to pick them up and transport them to him in Hawaii. I thought it was a bit extravagant to go through so much trouble to get 4 free roos when 2 are mutts.

Then I get a blank email today and in the subjuect line it just said free roosters.

I actually responded to an ad for "Wanted- Unwanted Chickens" and was very leery of it. When I got a response, she wanted to pick them up asap. I said no, I want to see where they will be going. So I delivered them yesterday, and boy did I get lucky! Actually, the roos got even luckier- plenty of room to roam, hens all over, and tons of horse poo to scratch in. They had built a tractor, so they'll be in that until they know it's home!

My thanks to BYCer Goshen for pointing out the listing to me!

Ignore those weird ones, they're trying to scam you. Whatever you do, don't respond and never click on a link you've been sent. Craig's List is really bad about attracting scammers.

That is a scam!! Did they offer to send you a check or money order, then when it cleared they'd send their "mover" to come pick up the "item". It would be a fraudulent check, which would clear the bank in the beginning, but when the bank finally discovered it, you would be held responsible and it SUCKS!!!
