Got Some New Pigeons(Update! Eggs Already!))

They are small sized pigeons, about 7oz. ish. They have a nice full breast and small rounded head with a flat spot ont he top of it. They also have a short beak, like a german owl.

I traded a rooster for them. They were friendly, cute, and beautiful and I've been wanting more pigeons, so I went ahead with it.

He called them Italian Arlequett, but that breed name didn't register in a google search.

My search also turned up italian owls, but i thought i'd ask the experts.

The cock weighs 9 oz. not sure on the hen. can figuritas weigh that much?

They have the fringe, flat head, small beak, and the full breast, just unsure on the size factor.

Didn't even consider figuritas.

a bit of an update on the pigeons.

I'm already loving these two. They are so friendly and sweet natured. I sat with the male in my lap at the computer for about 2 hours yesterday when I was letting them fly around the house and he was just loving the attention.

I've named them Midge and Pidge.

A good way to tell the differance between figuritas and italian owls is the stance. Italian owls hold their wings and tail horizontal with the gound, figuritas wings and tail almost touch the ground.

The pigeons are doing great! They are really friendly and cute!

Today i found an egg in their nest. They are fat and healthy and seem to be nesting well, so I'll let them hatch it and see what I get. If their condition declines I may end up hand feeding the baby/babies.

I'll keep you updated on the progress of the egg.
