I ordered 25 Cornish Giants from Moyer's Hatchery in Quakerstown, PA 3 1/2 wks ago. 26 arrived. I lost two within the first week. The remainder have been in a brooder in my garage since then and finally feathered out enough to get them out into the hoop tractor I built. Last night we had a wicked storm so I was anxious to see how the fared. All was well this morning and they seem calm and comfortable.
They have been eating more grass and pecking more at the ground than I was expecting from reports on this board. Almost like real 'pastured' poultry!
Hopefully no predators get through the tractor before we process them in another 3-4 weeks.
