Planted potatoes, onion sets, brocoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and napa cabbage plants, sowed peas and spinach. Have lettuces growing already in containers.

Been fighting the rain for a month now, putting tarps down before the storms, the garden is still too wet but I figured today was my last best chance. Did my best not to disturb the soil anymore than absolutely necessary.

I'm impressed. I pulled out some old seeds and looked through them. Planted some flower seeds which the chickens promptly ate, so next step is yet more fencing. It's still early and we might get more cold, so I am not concerned.
Good for you!

Like you we have been planting the garden. Earlier last week it was peas, beets, carrots, spinach, collards, Pak choi, radish seeds, onion plants (3 kinds) and russet potatoe. Yesterday it was plants purchased: Lettuce (three kinds), cabbage (three kinds) broccoli, cauliflour, brussel sprouts. Later after the rain this evening drys out a little will put in another bed of potatoes - red pontiac, more peas and another row of carrots.
Our garden is all raised beds 4 x 16 foot so they drain and warm up quickly.

You guys need to invest in a greenhouse.

Even a small one. Does wonders - We're talking growing stuff even cool climates won't accept, such as Tomatoes, Peppers, and Watermelons.

My dad grew up outside Clayton, Georgia. I don't know if Blue Ridge has the same soil as Persimmon, but that Rabun County soil grows the best tasting vegetables I've ever eaten... it has to be the minerals in the ground. The earth just smells different up there than it does in West Central Ga.

I really don't know if the soil is the same as in Clayton. Either way, my gardening skills aren't the best. I am still learning a lot. Have had much more luck with chickens than the garden. Then, I love animals and tend to overdo it with the spoiling.

The spring stuff has done fairly well considering the weather. Made a few peas and have had plenty of onions, broccoli and cabbage. Spinach and lettuce has been coming out of our ears. The cauliflower is just now getting ready.

Here is a pic of a couple Napa cabbages I cut this morning. Never grown it before and I thought it did well. I'm going to make a batch of kimchi directly.
