Got to be kidding me 🤣

Chickens are dumb

Chickens are weird. There's no other way to say it. Weird, weird, weird.

The two "favorite " boxes change on a daily basis, but it is rare that I find eggs in more than two in any given day. My boxes are milk crates with plywood over the top. Three big hens can cram themselves into one box at the same time. Wouldn't be so bad if they didn't kick eggs out, even with a three inch lip.:barnie

Well at least they are using the boxes, or box I should say. I got 11 eggs today with 3 on the floor of the coop all in different places, 1 in a poop catcher under roost, 1 in the run, and the other 6 in a box with 4 of those in the same box.
Yesterday, I had all 10 laid in the boxes and thought they had finally got it!! Not so. But, they are young and still figuring it out.

With my Brahma's being so much bigger I just couldn't see how they even had enough room 😂

So true 😂
As we were building the big box one just sat there for hours. 😉😂
If I am working in the garden and I hear some irritated chatter, it seems to always be the same hen irritating the others by taking up as much space in the nesting box as possible. I’ll tell her to move on out or to stop irritating the others, normally she will hop down and the next hen in line will hop in.

My white leghorns always irritate the other hens 😂 They seem so possessive over the nests. Lol
