Come spring there will be sprouts and things growing in the woodchips also, but beyond that there is nothing we can do.
if the groundskeepers ever have any edge trimmings, or even better, turfs, after any remodelling of beds and borders, they could be chucked in, and the chickens would love them.

I will remind them! They dumped some ton-bags of autumn leaves in there last year and it was very much appreciated. My pheasants absolutely LOVE a good pile of leaves to forage in!

I put a huge pile of last year's leaves in my hoop coop, mainly under the roost. Within a day they'd spread it throughout the entire area, good chooks!
 
This is Beaky today. I have been working at her beak with a trimmer and it is coming along nicely. She seems very content letting me do it too, in general they are such friendly and easygoing birds. ❤️
