Diatom as in diomacoucous earth food grade (sorry for spelling) works really well in my coop. I brought a 2 Kg tub of diatom and spraed a handful about two/three times a week. I find that diatom neutralises the smell in my coop and I noticed a big drop of the amount of flies buzzing around it also kinda dries out damp areas. Diatom doubles as a protection for external parasites such as red mites, louse and worms (not the strongest wormer out there). Last of all it is organic, so feeding diatom at the recommended amount involves no egg withdrawl. It is a great product and I just wanted to share the info to those who don't know what it is.
