Congrats, and I do hope you have a Del egg very soon!

Nothing happened but a lot of scratching around, so it may take a while yet- but it's fun to be able to start anticipating!

Yea for NC MTN chicken girls!! I know a lot of folks on this site arrange meet ups and swaps for their area, any idea if there are any for the WNC?

I have never heard of a meet up here. I don't have anything to swap. My Roo is young and this is his first Spring to get to be a Roo. I got him from Speckledhen. He seems gentle so far. I love the gentle way he will take a treat from me , then drop it and call the girls. He is a spash roo. I don't have a pic. cause the camera went on the blink last week. I am going to get another one soon. Love to meet you all. Gloria Jean

Uhhmmm... what's an "egg song"? I mean I gather it is the sounds a lady makes before she lays, but (and just before I type it, I realize what a silly question it is..) what does it sound like? Anyone an expert onomotopaeist?

The egg song: bawk bawk bawk baGAWK bawk bawk bawk baGAWK

Some one else might spell it better-

Gloria Jean, my Blue Orp roo is from Speckledhen- I take it you have another glorious son of Suede?

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the egg song? My birds have been singing for along time before they lay and have continued since they started. Sounds like a neat thing, if I knew what I was listening for!

Thanks!
