I am starting to think that one of my hens has Gout. She is raising chicks right now so not laying. Her comb is pale and her ankles are very swollen. I have stopped all treats except veggies. My flock is on flock raiser since i have chicks to adults and ducks.
Looking for any info that may help. I have been trying to research online, but feel like im just going in circles.
I remember reading about a farm I thought was in Michigan that sold natural remedies, but can't find the name anymore.
I will try to get a picture, which i'm sure would help.

It looks like gout. There isn't any treatment for gout. Treating gout is a long term process of a low protein diet, vegetables containing vitamin A, and plenty of fresh drinking water. Gout is painful in birds, perhaps an anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen may help.

The Tylan wouldn't help with gout, but would treat if it was MS. I would take Dawg53's word for it about it being gout. Is there any reason that you thought it was gout? Had she been on layer feed when she was younger than laying age? Or any of the other risk factors such as a high protein or high salt diet? My chickens love dry cat food as a treat, and I have stopped giving it to them since it is too high in protein.

she is just a year old, and is on flock raiser since i have chickens of all ages and ducks. my flock gets veggies in the morning with a small amount of scratch.I have stopped the scratch. I put sea kelp in there feed and probiotics in the waterers. she hatches out a lot of chicks so hasn't been laying for a while. I just searched for swollen ankle in chickens and everything led me to Gout. Gave her vitamins today with yogurt and crumble. Can i give her a baby aspirin? If so how much? Will have to do some more research. It's just strange all of my other chickens are fine.

A full size hen can take a baby aspirin twice a day. A vet can prescribe something stronger such a Metacam. Just to make sure you might check the bottoms of both feet for bumblefoot if you haven't already.
