Hello all first timer here. trying to hatch 8 silkie eggs in 2 different incubators. I have lurked on here for a bit. You all have been a wealth of knowledge and have kept me from going too mad. I am Prepared for heartache but staying positive and at awe of what an awesome journey it's been and we have just started it!

Are you going to keep your silkies at home or do you have a garden house for them? Glad you joined us and this is one of the best places I know of to get validation that I am doing something right or to seek out second opinions. Please do not judge all chicken based upon the Silkie breed. Silkies are cute, regularly seek us out for treats, and can go broody in an instant so with them around you can clean and probably forget about incubating eggs ever again. If foxes, marder, waschbaere and other predators start taking them do not be surprised but please be prepared for those visitors in Bayern and harden off your coop against them.
