Hi, so I am testing out my home made wine cooler incubator for the first time (3rd time hatching eggs ever). Hatch day was today although a few poults hatched yesterday. At the start of lockdown I had 9 turkey eggs and somewhere around 1 dozen chicken eggs all due to hatch today. They are all sharing a tub in the incubator right now but previously had been separate.. the issue I have is all but 1 of the turkeys have hatched but no chicks. From what I can tell between turkeys there are 2 eggs with a beak sized hole only.
Can I grab the poults if quick if toss in some wet paper towels or wet sponges to keep the humidity up? Or will the poults that already hatched yesterday be ok for another day or 2? What's the limit on leaving them in? Don't want to vacuum seal the chicks in but I also don't want the poults to starve. I saw one eating some of a sponge that's in there. If the chicks are just getting started I'm expecting them to take at least 2 days to hatch.
