Ha ha ha ha. I feel your pain. It's exam time, and the reports and essays are due. It takes HOURS.​

I used to not mind it. The bit I hated was posting the grades on the class website, as the websites were all built and run on this one computer lab full of Macs. All the Excel formatting always screwed up.

The actual grading, now--we had some essay exams. Let me tell you, those were hilarious. I saved a bunch of them and typed out the best answers for my advisor to preserve for posterity. The class average on the essay exams was 35%. I nearly peed my pants laughing, I never took it personally when the kids didn't do well. Some of them really did sleep through class, many just never showed up but didn't have the sense to drop the class.

Question: Why is HIV a retrovirus?
Actual student answer: Because it is a burned-out hippie virus.

Question: Name four things that cause cancer
Actual student answers: TV, bad vibes, carrots, too many vitamins

Question: Your uncle thinks that diet isn't important when it comes to preventing cancer. What do you say to him? (There are several "right" answers)
Actual student answer: I would say, shut up Uncle Bob, you're a dumba**.
