Grainy eggs?

Hi all, my 1.5 yo Black Australorp started laying funky eggs about a month ago. It was peak heat at the time and we had doubled the flock size by adding three pullets (we raised from chicks) about a moth prior. Her eggs are paper thin and on one half, they are very grainy to the touch, almost like the calcium isn't attaching to the egg? She used to be a prolific layer, but now we find her broken eggs every other day or so.

None of the other hens are having issues. We fed her plain Greek for a week and her shells appeared potentially less grainy, but still very thin and breakable.

We went to the vet a week ago and he suggested she had caught a virus that affected her reproductive system and may or may not live this way the rest of her days.

Any experience with eggs like these? What can I do to improve her quality of life and/or egglaying? Thanks!

Sheesh. I've had "grainy" eggs before but not to that degree. With my affected hens it did seem to get worse during the high heat of the summer. It never totally went away though. I assume you're offering a calcium supplement for the hens?
With a problem that severe I would worry the eggs may break internally. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in? I understand why you posted under egg laying but maybe also try the emergency thread?

Yes, they have access to both oyster shell and crushed eggshells always. Maybe I'll repost in the emergency thread and see if I get any bites thanks for the feedback.
