Grammarians UNITE!

My son, who is an exceptional writer for his age, thinks he can drop
all rules of grammer when posting here or when using the computer
in general. It drives me nuts and I'm trying to get him to understand
that this another form of communication, one equal or more so than
many others.

What is the difference between a post here, fun threads aside, a
business email, or a letter written by Thomas Jefferson. The art of
writing started to become extinct long before the internet came on
the world stage.

Proper English is becoming a lost art. It seems reasonable to assume
that email and the internet would reinvigorate it but it is not working
that way.

My sister used to text me (or even SAY) "Where is you?"

She must have thought it was funny.

She doesn't do that to me anymore...it bought out the grammar Nazi in me.
