So, I have a question for English chick and Greyfields:

How do you pronounce aluminum?

Lol... you should hear my husband try to say aluminum... or worse yet, cinnamon! It makes me laugh every time. Poor guy.

I am a grammer and spelling Nazi. I can't stand the obvious mispellings that are made so often. It really ticks me off to see them in the newspaper, a publication in which the reporters are paid to write properly!

That said, I'm astounded at the number of mispellings that make it into my posts. My fingers tend to move faster than my brain and I don't catch as many of them as I'd like. Because of that I tend to not judge forum posters as harshly.

My biggest pet peeve is a lot - its two words!!!

And also the glaring error of ending sentences with prepositions. I understand in some circumstances its difficult to understand, but nobody should say "Where is it located at?"

Edited to correct propositions to prepositions - LOL - although some people do end their sentences with propositions!

Isn't it "pedal to the metal'? As in put your pedal of your car to the metal floor of said car??

Put your pedal to what medal? The one I win for driving too fast?? Last time I checked that wasn't a medal it was a speeding ticket!

Gotta admit the book was hilarious, though!

Ok, grammer folks... I got C's or worse in every class... except music and geography, and dropped out of highschool way early on. Course I played hookey so much in Middle and Grammer school its amazin I got to highschool, but I only got held back twice for some odd reason...
