My city recently changed the law to ' no roosters whatsoever' like a year ago. I had my rooster since 6 years ago. So grandfather applies here. But the question is..... will his sons count?

if you are truly grandfathered in, i believe (you'll have to check) that means you can have anything that was allowed before. so, more roosters would probably be okay.

go to the city and ask exactly what grandfathered in means. and not a clerk or phone person, find someone of authority, ask them to put it in writing. then, you are golden.

best blessings for a happy ending!
