Grandma again, NOT a happy ending !!!

(I have one grandaughter from my son that will be one year old next week. My daughter is pregnant but wasn't due until the end of October. They told us a few weeks ago that her placenta was failing and that the baby was small for her gestational age. They've decided to induce Friday morning, and most likely deliver Molly Ann by C-section. She is estimated to weigh just over 4 pounds. Keep my daughter and baby Molly in your thoughts. We're doing and amniocentesis tomorrow to see how developed her lungs are. Docs not too worried so we're trying not to. My daughter lives with me and we have the room ready, just thought we had 5 more weeks to go. Ready or not here she's comes!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you 3. Take care and try to relax. I hope that all goes nice and smoothly for your daughter and her baby. I am picturing all this in my head but finding it hard to put thoughts into words for you.

When I read about your daughter having her baby early I just got the best feeling for you, I think you will have a healthy baby. They can do so much now for these little ones.

Two of my sisters are pregnant and due next month. One of my sisters has to get the baby checked regularly because she's not as big as what she should be. It happened with her firstborn too, and he turned out to be fine. I'm sure everything will turn out great and you'll have a new grandbaby to cuddle. I'll keep you in my thoughts and make sure you keep us updated!

Try not to worry (easier said than done). Hospitals have come a long way today in helping premees do fine. Thoughts and prayers with you all.

Thank you all for your replies. I feel confident she'll be fine. She's so cute on the ultrasounds, fully developed and everything, just a littlel small. The doc said she's not worried. We're excited! I can't wait to meet her!

Thinking of you all over here in the uk, now i've had a baby i feel more than ever for those going through it.

Everything will go fine and your'll have a healthy little grand-daughter! Very exciting!

Jenichick, I was 2 months premature, just barely 3 lbs and had to stay in an incubator for 6 weeks. That was 50 years ago, so your granddaughter has the advantage of better, specialized care. She should do just fine.
