Granny's gone and done it again

For all the bird lovers here, we have here the European goldfinch, Carduelis carduelis,
That sadly her numbers are diminishing due development and ilegal hunting , when I was little a flock of 200-300 birds was very common.

Goodnight Cap. I am heading off to sleep.

Benny, those are beautiful little birds. So sad there are fewer. That's the case with lots of birds. I have read descriptions of a migratory bird flyway in California from the early 1800's. So many birds, the sky would darken for hours as they flew over. Wouldn't that be something to see? Got to have both summer and winter grounds protected for them to survive. We have also lost a lot of migratory butterflies. Very sad.

Indeed it is something that makes me very sad, I think that my grandchildren will live in a poorer Natural environment.
We always encounter wildlife when we where little, a toad a chameleon or even a turtle was very common, I had a turtle for almost 12 years , before I let it go. But now it is almost never seen.

there was a small baby blue (color) bird in Ky. growing up was beautiful. Mom told me they had all disappeared for many yrs and were making a slow comeback. I hope for this with all the critters .
