Haven’t seen a fox since one broke my rabbits leg then drowned in the pool. I hate them.

We had a pair raising kits in our back yard in TN! Kept killing chickens. I gave their den a thorough smoke treatment and one adult died of lead poisoning. In the dark!

Dang escape artists. Always getting out. BUT seem to be doing well health wise.

It is 15 out there. Feels like 13. I just felt like those poor birds fighting for their lives should not be this cold. So i built a holder for my heat lamp, enclosed in wood and hardware cloth and screwed to the divider about 3 feet off the floor. So that should take the edge off the chill. I really didn't want to go in there and find a bunch of dead birds in the morning. It is not supposed to get this cold here!

honestly up here I truly find the best thing is one of those oil-filled electric heaters, you can adjust the temps and come spring. I pull mine out hose them down and let them dry for days before going into storage until needed next.

Also if you set them up on a cinder block no worry about bedding getting crammed in the heater itself

That’s true, I guess it could be. I just put new feed in yesterday because all the feeders were empty. It was dry though and looked fine from what I seen. But I filled it full so it could be in the middle and just exposed maybe?

Check the feed in the morning. I had a new bag that must have been sitting in some water because when I got down near the bottom, it smelled really bad. Luckily I scoop it out daily for them, so caught it before going in the feeder.

I read tonight and one more and then warm again. If i can just get them through that, maybe they will make it.

My grandpa had one that would come up on the porch for awhile and eat food with the cats. It started going under his chair while he was sitting in it to sleep. Crazy critters.
