nope the chicken sexers did a pretty good job. Just a few roo's and kept them so far. BUT not real impressed with the breed. and TBH the yellowish/white is not attractive. Current birds of choice are still the lorps and now the New Hampshires. Still deciding on what to order this year. OH and I got DUX, 25 Muscovy's I think there are at least 10 drakes in the mix.

Have you had Barred Rocks or doms? You could get those and a solid roo and have the farm grunts incubate some sex links.

Maybe just do the meat birds for butchering... I think there will always be a problem with the Dual purose breeds for butchering

LOL BUT then I would need to set/hatch over 100 eggs to hopefully end up with 50 pullets. THATS a lot of feed. And currently I have 10 dux in the brooder room as I think the little-dux-coop got to small or the boys grew to fast and there was a lot of feather eating/pulling going on. They are much more "evil" then chicks that way.

especially since I am not that fond of eating chicken, old hens work great for stock and stewing which I do like. Honestly so far out of all the breeds I have tried the sl wyandots were the easiest to clean and the tastiest.

haven't tried either of those 2 breeds yet. I do KNOW I will never do cinnamon queens and because of them sex links again, chick killing SOB's
