Granny's gone and done it again

are they full sized or pullet eggs ?? I have read pullets aren't really the best choice to try and hatch. BUT I honestly don't know.
I don’t know. I think she bought the silkies last spring so they have been laying for a while.

Everyone still hanging in there. Seem to be getting stronger, hopefully their own quiet little house will help. I put tape shoes on everyone with toes out of place. I just stuck them in position on sports tape and then folded it over so maybe there will be a bit of flex to it. I haven’t seen them eat much, but it’s like preemies? I guess maybe they’re still growing/developing. I have seen more of them drink on their own.

Last year my silkie chicks had trouble eating dry crumbles so I took a small cup of them and added water until it was a sort of slop. They went to town!
Hope your littles pull through, they seem stronger since you’ve had them.

as long as they are good sized and fastish growers and NO PINK EYES (creeps me out)
And I was going to say do crossbreds of a Californian and New Zealand white. New Zealand reds have brown eyes.

I made a list of qualities I’m looking for in a pup and made bff promise to make me stick to it. I’m looking for red/chocolate merle or spots like a catahoula, brown only. Blue eyes, female, up to a year old though older dogs will need a trial period/screening process. I have several different breeds that are acceptable because I can’t choose, and of course I love mixes. The color is the deal breaker; I’ve wanted spots for many years.

And all that said, I’m obsessed with this darling in Texas. Australian Shepherd allegedly.

She has a male twin in north Louisiana.

They looked crossed to me. And not very spotted. What about a Texas heeler? Are you wanting a big dog or small dog? The Merle color is in many breeds. Even Chihuahua lol

These are examples of what I’m looking for, pulled from google. The curs sometimes look a little too “intense” so I need a friendlier face. The catahoula leopard dog is the state dog of LA, and they’re popular for hunting hogs. Easy to come by around here, but the hunting lines aren’t great for family pets.

I love the look but you’ll probably want a low prey drive dog. With all the critters you have itd drive you and the dog nuts lol

Has Alley been on today ?
Yeah, I’ve just been super tired and sore. Lots of lifting yesterday and my back was already hurting before
Think she gets tired of me asking what day my eggs are on ? I tried to scrub the brooder today. I didnt do a very good job
No I don’t. It’s Baby day today and tomorrow for you! :weeIs it something you can mix a little dawn soap and water on? Chicken poo is water soluble.

MY eggs look so weird inside. I can’t see anything. And they are not that dark.
Brighter light? Maybe it’s the development.

I wonder if that is how they "created" bantams kept hatching pullet eggs for a number of generations.
Nooo lol pick the smallest from each batch. Probably bred sibling together so off spring are same.

Good morning grannyland!

Morning Alley! :frow

I’m not size or breed specific on a pup because I can’t narrow it down. When we had Jasper I wanted a small puppers, but now with just Jewel I’m wanting another one her size. I know it’s backwards and not the best way to look for a dog, but color is really what I’m good my for. Otherwise I’ll never be able to narrow it down with all the cute sweet pups in the world.

When I was looking for a house dog I was set on a long haired chihuahua or dachshund. I was looking all over the place. Mom even helped me look. She knew 2 ladies with litters of pups. We went to see a pup and I fell in love. She wasn’t what I was looking for (I wanted a blonde pup) but she was perfect for what I needed. I took her home that night.

Camp what about something you can train to round up your critters? A herding breed? Or a guardian dog breed? I bet you could find something in the color you’re looking for.

A livestock guardian isn’t practical for us right now, and I want an inside puppers. :hide
