Update on the kidney story. He called into work and spoke with my sister... very groggy, but to say he will be a week in the hospital, a week at home on bed rest, and 2 months after that on light duty at work. Guess my kid will have to pick up the slack. It will be good for him.
Oh, and the ruptured kidney was NOT removed... I guess they repaired and are watching it and that's why a week in the hospital.

Oh, and just so you know, my sis is only telling me this story, not out of gossip, but because we are trying to coordinate me picking up a cat she is getting tomorrow... since they are short handed at work, she cannot take time off. Cat is in poor shape, and we want it out of the situation it is is... going straight to the vet for much needed flea bath and to be spayed.
I, however, am telling the story out of gossip.

This will be our first Easter without MIL. Tradition of the Easter egg hunt was mandatory with her long after the kids were grown. We will have to have one here in her honor.

She does want a dog, but is picky about getting the right one, and no puppies since she works. At this point, she just wants something living to come home to, and this cat will be a very good companion... good temperament.
