I'm so sorry.
When I was little, we had a clutch of 6 orphan chicks in a box under a light. One just wouldn't stop cheeping, so I would hold it and it would quiet down then. Mom came in and told me be careful, don't fall asleep with it in bed. ok. Woke up the next morning and it wasn't cheeping so I ran in to check the box... and it was missing... then it all came flooding back and I ran back to my room and pulled the covers back, and there was the poor little thing, smooshed, because of me. :( I don't know how much guilt an 8 yr old can stand, but I had never felt so bad. Now that we're older, it gets a little easier, but not much. :hugs
