I think the best time is when the mama weans them herself. Doesn't mean they have to be taken away.

That's what I do and then with Abby added at least a week or two.

hahahaaa he is a trip. I gave them all a pc of ham and about lost fingers.

mine are trained to be gentle when taking food out of a hand I can even put a piece of food in my mouth and feed with no fear of teeth. IF they get a little to over eager all I have to do is say "nice"

Bandit is a very bored high energy puppy. I suspect he will calm when he gets a little older. Like 10 maybe. hahahaa

Yes gaining, they are helping mom by bottle feeding.

I don't have space for any more. Coop is bursting at the seams, but when I do, I will be looking for Marans and she's got options there!

There is also a place very close by called Alchemist Farm where I got my CCLs. She won't let people on her place for biosecurity and meets you out at the gate with a box of chicks to choose from. Smart of her, given how many people have chickens around here... it's like a status symbol now. I've lived here most of my life, and it just keeps getting weirder.
