I read someone yesterday that said its the wrong time for chickens to be molting. Is anyones here molting ?

Couple of my Seramas are.

Just a fat guess but the last 6 seramas I have should hatch right around swap time meaning I wont be able to take them. I like the seramas but they are only good for broodys. I need to lighten my load. Its not going to be easy because there are some I really like. Now, my jubs and polish seem to be just as useless. Jubs suck at laying , eat a ton and act like cornish X . Plus the prolapse didnt make me a fan of them. Yall know how dumb the polish are. They also have crooked toes so probably not good for breeding but I dont know the cause.
I think I need to do a complete clean out and with my health figure out how many egg layers will do my family . I probably have enough already with the SFH, super blue, I like the jub/polish cross, Barred rock and one Im not sure. Maybe black sex link. I could keep those in the serama coop and turn my big run into a garden maybe . Just a few tomato and cukes

I think one good coop with easy care chickens would take a lot of pressure off you.

Nice on not cooking. Love them roasted veggies. I bet they are funny I like watching videos of them playing.
How long has your broody been sitting and on what ?

Got the ducks settled, sortof. I’ll let Racecar stay in that box for now but when they try to hatch like that they get squished.

the store bought ones maybe they were called Cherry bombs. was about 25 years ago Before all the NANNY LAWS and the MIND EVERYONE ELSE"S businesser's took over the country.

there are a lot of feathers in the coop and their not laying. I went over them w/ magnifying glass. LOL No mite but they are pale

She looks like a production red of some sort. Nice orange color and black tail feathers, probably New Hampshire.

well finally heard from the one's taking Penance, The mother still hasn't delivered BUT they still want the pup. Hubby is supposed to be in today or tomorrow and pay for it and then they are going to pick her up on Sunday. If this changes yet again I may start charging boarding fee's

Neighbor kids caught our backyard on fire with a cherry bomb. It was a small backyard too, late 60's in NJ.
