Hi Jane, quick question, does the soil color stay the same even if you dump loads of cow or horse manure to it. I would hate to have clay soil. It is so hard to garden in. Even though you seem to garden fine in it.

We have clay here too. We till it up a lot and try to mix in dark compost from under the haybale rings.

Sorry, just a quick hi & goodbye. Slept horrible last night & it's pouring rain. Have to rush through my chores & get into town to get supplies to treat my hen. Plus dd called to say she needed to get into the doctor, so I will be meeting her at the doctors office to grab kiddos. Hoping that her troubles aren't gallstones or a hernia & that she won't need me to take kiddos overnight. I've got so much stuff to get done & with those yahoos that won't happen. Getting ready to go to the swap this afternoon! I overslept, had a hard time sleeping with my sinuses all aggravated. But great news, i am getting tolbunt polish chicks!

I have clay soil too! Really orangey red. But it does change color when adding manure and sand.
