Granny's gone and done it again

that rose looks like a peony except peony has no thorns. Ants, they have ants.
There are others that look even more pee-on-ee-ish.
Peonies are hard to bloom here... doesn't get cold enough.
I like roses because they are relatively easy care here, and shrubs don't require as much water in the summer as flowering annuals.
 
We sent DH’s godmother heirloom dahlias for mother’s day/retirement. I thought they all looked nice together.

I love flowering shrubs because there isn't enough hours in the day for me to fit in gardening in my flower beds. I've got the English cottage look going on in most of them right now. Prennials multiplying & filling in in hopes to choke out the weeds :gig
