You might want to check on the need for that in your location. Turns out that the intermediate stage in the mosquito dies if it is subjected to temps of 54°F or colder (IIRC, could be 57°) even once in a 45 day period. As such, there is no dog or cat where I live that will ever get heart worm unless it is taken to warmer climates.dogs get those for heart worm
