Granny's gone and done it again

Hi all, I got a few hrs sleep. I got up and found Tom sitting in his chair and I walked/led him to his bed. He stayed in the same position I put him in. Thats more scary then not sleeping. I have a call in to his Dr.
Hospital is a joke. The reason we were waiting so long was because (from his own mouth) dr. was researching possible causes.
Heard someone at the front desk tell Toms nurse, " I dont know what she is complaining about".
I pulled a rocking chair in the room and lady walks in and said," I didnt know we had a rocking chair, did you get that from here or..?" I said, Nope, brought it from home. That got a giggle from Tom and he said,"Heres your sign".
Vascular drs office called today wanting to make appt. I was confused . we had already been. It was that surgeon. He said, we just got the referral thursday and are closed on fridays so we need to set up an appt. I said No, you got the referral last tuesday, your just now getting around to doing your job while my DH has already been there and seen your Dr. Get your story straight.
Hi Pam, is Tom still taking the Tramadol in addition to the new pain pill? The reason I ask is that my SIL got all kooky when too much SSRI built up in his system while taking Tramadol. He got all wired up like Tom, he couldn't sleep, he couldn't sit, he was just up down, up down almost like a manic episode. Went on for days until he crashed his car just leaving our driveway. He no longer takes Tramadol. Sure hope they can figure this stuff out for Tom.
Has been a crazy 2 days here. My youngest dd asked if my Mom & FIL could be invited for Rod's birthday supper & then oldest dd called to ask if her and the 3 kids could come out too for the day. Ended up with a houseful & dd ended up being in so much stomach pain. (Doctors still didnt have a definate diagnoses for what has been causing all her pain.) She started having bloody stool the end of this week & was scheduled to see her family doctor on Monday, but she was in such severe pain & feeling like she was going to pass out that I said your going to ER. That way they could get a jump on possibly diagnosing what's going on & refer to to a GI doctor. As it turns out it was a very good thing she went in. Her blood pressure was very low, they suspected a bleeding upper GI Ulcer so they did a cat scan. She does have a Peptic bleeding Ulcer & a enflamed gallbladder, but she is also bleeding from the rectum. They are referring her to a GI doctor for a scope test of the stomach & to have a colonoscopy done. They've put her on a medication regiment that she has to take 4 times a day & told her the earliest she could go back to work would be Friday. And that is dependant upon if the bleeding has decreased. She works a very physical job & they are worried that because of the major heavy lifting she does that the ulcer could rupture through the stomach lining. Just praying that nothing else is found with the upcoming tests, she has enough to heal already. They say, and try not to have any stress when you have a 16 yr old, a 3 yr old, a 4 1/2 yr old & a husband that acts like he's 2. Plus she is a acting floor manager to 25 employees for a nation wide shipping company. She tosses around truck tires like they don't weigh a thing. She tells me, that's the light stuff mom, you should see the furniture we have to load. I have had 2 days with the kiddos & am wiped out. They have left for home now so I can't visit long. My birds still haven't been fed or watered yet & I'm hoping to get some grass mowed. Hope to bbl if I'm not too tired.

How frustrating. For me though, if an ER doctor did NOT do any research on potential reactions to medications, I would not trust their judgement. It is vast amount of information and not something I would expect anyone could accurately remember without looking it up. Diagnosis can be time consuming, sometimes even years, but if they don't put in the research time, it isn't diagnosing, it is guessing. :hmm
