The things you can learn online! I wish I had internet when I was a student... so many interesting things out there that they never teach you in school.

John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed) probably planted small sour apples used for making cider. Most apples in the US, up until prohibition, were planted for cider making. I should say HARD cider and applejack.

It's very interesting. He was a very different man than what I read about in third grade.
