Just put 2 more trays of silkie eggs in the bator..... probably only half are fertile but oh well they’d go in the trash or to the cats otherwise.

I need to get dressed and go outside. Ttyl.

my bunny cage is nearly done! A few pieces of trim, move the cage, screw on the roof and done!
i also put up the ramp for the quail to get up to their dust bath! One got out and took off flying but luckily is out of shape so i grabbed it when it landed.
Mine are out on long grass in the spring, and never had a problem with them. They tend to pick off small bites anyway... just the tips! The problem with cut grass is they have no way to get it into shorter pieces. They should be fine. Extra grit never hurts. The problem with birds and long grass is when they’re fed cut grass clippings that aren't chopped? I want to move the biddies to the tractor, but the grass is pretty long. I can give them extra grit and I guess watch their crops pretty closely. I’m just desperate to have them out of the brooder.
Morning misty. I take the carrot & lettuce outta the bfast burrito.
must eat healthy
I wish I could make a big spread for everyoneYum misty, you feed us well
So hubs got a call from calfire last night. Pending pay negotiations on Monday (odd they make him an offer of employment without having pay in order!) well, job’s his if they pay him enough haha.
Either way it will be a pay cut. But we’re hoping the long term benefits will outweigh the short term monetary shortfall.
Hey. At least my job is getting more hours and if he’s going to have pension stuff on his end I can scale back my 401k contributions a bit
He’s nervous (zomg change!) but I think excited for it.
The Hamburg slept up on the roost with the big girls last night! Now to get the other little bitties figuring it out....they don’t all fit on the roost in the brooder that’s for sure. Will be interesting to see what happens tonight if she goes up there again or not. She seemed a little confused on how to get down, I had to help her out.

More tea madamGood morning. Hubby is pounding in posts for the fence around the garden. I am still half asleep.
