Well, what the hay? My white speckled hen died. She's heavy, no mites, no missing feathers. She was inside the pen so not a predator. Was fine this am.

I timed it this time so I’d have babies for my bday lol unfortunately the duck eggs died.

Maybe she was too heavy and her liver ruptured?

I got the quail cage in the home stretch. 2 more pieces of hardware cloth to staple on, a latch on the door, and the roof. It is not pretty, but i need to get those quail out of the brooder. I cut a roof for that bunny cage i plan to sell. And painted it. Needs paint on the flip side.

We went for a walk down by the river today, no critters except that one deer. So hubby went for a walk later and saw bob white quail!
Seems like today flew by, where does the time go?
