Josie just carried a live chicken into the house. Poor hen is lying on her side, eyes closed, gasping. She actually got up and ran a bit when Josie dropped her, and I can’t find a mark on her. Not sure if she’s in shock or maybe was strangled. I didn’t see Josie with her outside. DD let her in a screamed “JOSIE HAS A DEAD CHICKEN” and barricaded herself in my bedroom.

Lots of pasty butt going on. Bunch of naked butts now. I added chick grit again and probiotics/vitamins to the water.
Something I noticed about the chick that died this morning when I found him last night his bum was wide open. No control. It wasn’t like that before. Idk what’s going on. All the chicks except 1 that died had clean buns. No sign of diarrhea or pasty butt.

Here’s one of the chicks. They all have feather development like this. For 2 weeks I expect a little more and for them to start looking mangy.
