I think it was the dryer. It was something of yours and it was the external vent causing the trouble.

The one cat has been scheduled several times lol she disappears the day before.uhmm, there are ways of fixing that problem.
I have had cochins, but did not raise them, so don't know how they develop. I remember my 2 hens had fairly small combs and wattles. Will be interesting to see how yours grow.
