Hope she's better tomorrow. Very mysterious why they are getting sick. Can a young one get black head? I read yellow in the stools is a sign. Autopsy is pretty easy to tell if they have it... lesions on the liver and cecum are full of yellow nasty dead tissue stuff.


You said you started yoga... why did you quit? I got a yoga CD but haven't started it yet. Mine is for beginners, and I will have plenty of trouble with the easy stuff. It's supposed to be very good for all sorts of things, but I'm especially interested in core strength and hip flexibility. Lately I am having more painful days than pain free. I need to work on getting stronger. We should yoga together, but no way I am wearing those pants!

I think its botulism. No yellow stools that i have seen. But the turkeys forage around under cages and eat stuff. The other birds spill feed. Idk what i can do to prevent the turkeys from eating it. Even if i kept them in the lean-to there is a brooder in there. I need to find a place to put that turkey hen, because she is going to start to be picked on. I guess a need a hospital cage, a big one.

I think my foot is fractured again. There’s a painful knot that I discovered this morning, skin is not bruised. Wearing tennis shoes while I hiked after the dogs was very uncomfortable. Between my hip and my foot I’m having a hard time getting comfy in bed. I’m really considering wearing my boot again.

That’s bummer. You seem too young for these stress fractures. Do you get any calcuim?

Got a call from a guy living in NC. He wants quail chicks. 5 of them. Why do people only want a few quail, or the occasional person wants 300!? No middle ground. Had a guy that wanted 30 but i think he is still building cages

Oh, and i have a preemie quail. Looks like a belly with yolk and its feet stick out behind it. Keeping it in the bator for now.
And, good news...another chick hatched. Idk where to put them. I might have to find another bin to set up.
